An embroidered shirt is not just clothes. This is something very special: personal, native, sacred. Vyshivanka is an ethnic art, a protection against evil and self-identification of Ukrainians as a single nation. Moreover, our genetic code is encrypted in the embroidery.
Ukraine's Embroidery Day is celebrated annually in May, and this year the 15th World Embroidery Day will be celebrated. And although the date still has an unofficial status, it is becoming more popular every year.
Students and teachers came to the college that day in embroidered shirts. Everything around was full of colorful patterns of Ukrainian embroidery.
The exhibition "World Embroidery Day" was created in the library of the college, where everyone can get acquainted with the history of the formation of Ukrainian folk clothing, the peculiarities of creation, the diversity of the regions. and historical periods and the culture of embroidery use.
During the educational hour a quiz on the history of folk embroidery in Ukraine was held. Students prepared little-known facts about embroidery, took part in creative and musical competitions.
Today, on the fifth anniversary of the "Born in embroidered shirts" campaign, KramKTD students congratulated the craftswomen who have been creating traditional embroidered shirts for newborns for five years. Our talented and responsible boys and girls drew coded Ukrainian words on the canvas.
A real fashion show took place in the halls of the Donetsk Regional Art Museum. Sudants of Kramatorsk college of technology and design specialty "Modeling and design of industrial products" demonstrated their creative practice dedicated to the Ukrainian national costume and embroidery ornaments.
On the Day of Embroidery, students and teachers of Kramatorsk College of Technology and Design proved by their own example that Ukrainian traditions are one of the most beautiful in the world. And in our power with you to spread them, to tell about them to the whole world! Put on your embroidered shirts and let the whole world see how beautiful our Ukraine and its symbols are!
