This day was determined not by chance: March 20 is the day of the spring equinox, when the night is almost equal to the light part of the day. The authors of the idea wanted to show that, fortunately, absolutely everyone has equal rights, as well as the right to meet the sun every day. The International Day of Happiness was introduced by a resolution of the UN General Assembly of June 28, 2012.

     Happiness affects your immunity.

By doing good to others, we become happier.

Scientists believe that the "happiness gene" can be inherited from mother to child.

The aroma of flowers and fresh air make us happier.

Happiness depends on the colors that surround us.

   The "happiest" scientists consider yellow.

Happiness is painless. It has been proven that optimists are less likely to suffer from headaches.

Happiness is contagious. If there are happy people next to us, we are "charged" with their positive energy.

Finland topped the ranking of the happiest countries in the world World Happiness Report 2020. For the third year the country remains in first place. The top ten also includes Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, New Zealand, Austria and Luxembourg.

The happiest ages are 23 and 69 years. These are the results of a study by psychologists from the Center for Economic Research at the London School of Economics. 23-year-old people are full of hopes and ambitions. In addition, by this age they had no experience, due to which the level of expectations could decrease. Women and men at the age of 69 acquire the ability not to regret the past. It gives them real pleasure.

There is a gene for happiness in the human body. Scientists from the London School of Political Science and Economics came to such conclusions. The happiness gene is called 5-HTT. It controls the spread of serotonin by nerve cells. Humans have two copies of this gene, one from each parent.

Happiness smells like freshly baked bread. These are the results of a study by Indian scientists. Next comes the smell of clean bed linen and freshly cut grass.

To be happier, you need to kiss for at least 20 seconds . During a kiss, a lot of happiness hormone is released - oxytocin and endorphins. These are hormones of a great mood. This is evidenced by WHO studies. This organization has been studying the effects of kissing on the body since 1981.

To feel happy you need to hug at least 8 times a day . "We need four hugs every day to survive. Eight hugs are needed to maintain our health and well-being. 12 hugs are needed for growth and self-esteem," says American psychotherapist Virginia Satyr.

There are many theories of happiness . Each theory determines its components of a happy state. Among them: the ability to focus on positive emotions, care for physical well-being, the ability to be grateful to others and the universe.

We wish everyone to find their own "recipe for happiness" and be sure to be happy!
